Conference webcasts and presentations online.

A week has passed since IASSIST 2009. I hope most of you have made it safely back home by now - and are ready to refresh the memories by watching the conference webcasts and viewing presentations. Webcasts of all three plenaries and Thursday and Friday's concurrent sessions in the Small Auditorium are now available. We didn't have cameras available during the Wednesday sessions, so no videos of these presentations, sorry! But most of the presentations are already online - a few are still missing either because we didn't have them or we are waiting for an updated version. Please send in any missing presentations or email me if there are mistakes that should be corrected!

Roadworks ahead! See FAQ on parking.

It's early summer in Finland and the one official sign of summer is that roadworks and other related construction works begin. Diggers and other machines dig huge holes into the ground and roads and fill them up only when the autumn arrives... In between people and cars try to manage they way around them. :) There is some heavy digging going on in Pinninkatu during the day-time. If you intend to arrive by car and park in one of the close by parking halls or hotel's garages, be prepared to spend some extra time behind the wheel. Pedestrians too are advised to be cautious when passing these construction sites. See more on parking in FAQ.

Seems that our conference is more popular than I assumed - I have reallocated the DDI meeting into a bigger meeting room and consequently, Admin committee meeting too was moved in order to keep things easily manageable. New room for DDI: LS K109 and for AC: RH K106.

Registration is still open - but you should hurry...

Registration is still open... but you should really register by May 14 to make sure that there is space for you at the reception and banquet! Online registration does stay open almost until the weekend before the conference, so in any case it is encouraged that attendees use that instead of onsite registration, which includes an additional handling fee.

Online form for submission of proposals

A webform for submission of proposals is now open. Use the form to submit proposals for individual papers, sessions or posters. A separate call for workshops is forthcoming. The form is hosted on Miami University Libraries server, so the direct link takes you off the conference website. After submitting you are transferred back. The deadline for abstract submission is November 21, 2008.

Relevant locations for the IASSIST 2009 conference are now available on Google Maps. Each map item also contains some further information or links. On the Maps and Guides page there is also a link to the aerial map of Tampere, unfortunetely only in Finnish. At the moment there are no high resolution satellite pictures of Tampere region in Google Maps, so you just may want to give this other service a go.
