Seminar on Eastern European social science data archives and archiving activities held in Berlin

Seminar on social science data archiving in Eastern Europe gathered approximately 30 representatives from 15 countries. The seminar, held in Berlin on 22-24 February, 2002, was organised by UNESCO and the German GESIS. Representatives from a few EU countries had also been invited.

The discussion was based on memos presenting the situation in each Eastern European country. These papers will be published shortly on the net. The site, Contacts and support for archive activities in Eastern Europe, is maintained by GESIS.

Papers on similar topic presented at the IASSIST Amsterdam conference in 2001 are already available.
