» ICPSR Summer School ICPSR Summer SchoolThe ICPSR (Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research) Summer Program offers training in quantitative methods at the University of Michigan (US). Two Finnish doctoral students, Juha Helin from the University of Turku and Maria Ackrén from Åbo Akademi University, attended the Summer Program this year. Both received a grant from the ICPSR, allotted by FSD, to cover part of the course fees. Symposium on Secondary Analysis in Qualitative ResearchThe University of Grenoble (France) organized an international symposium with the title Secondary Analysis in Qualitative Research. Utopia and Perspectives on 3-4 November 2005. Researchers from several European countries participated. FSD's Research Officer Arja Kuula had been invited to the symposium to give a presentation on ethical issues connected to the archiving of qualitative data. Symposium presentations will be published in a book form. WVS Finnish DataIn the autumn of 2005, Gallup Finland, the Church Research Institute, and the Social Insurance Institution of Finland collected data for the fifth round of the World Value Survey. The Finnish data will be available from FSD in December 2005. More information on World Values Survey.
