Changes in FSD agreements for a smoother archiving process

FSD has updated its agreements regarding the transfer and archiving of research data. The separate agreement on personal data processing for assessing the suitability of research data for archiving is no longer in use. From now on, the new Archiving Agreement will be made before data are transferred to FSD.

In the new Archiving Agreement, detailed terms and guidelines regarding the processing of personal data are included in the annexes, as required by the GDPR. The Archiving Agreement also covers the assessment of the research data's suitability for archiving at FSD, which was previously included in the agreement on personal data processing.

Not all data delivered to FSD contain personal data. However, having consistent agreement processes strengthens data protection and data security when processing the personal data of research participants. At the same time, the Agreement ensures the responsible handling of personal data and the lawfulness of sending the data to FSD and demonstrates compliance with data protection regulations.

The basic elements relating to the reuse of data remain the same in the new Agreement. The technical implementation of the new agreement form is clearer compared to the previous agreements, and its accessibility has been significantly improved.

We hope that these changes make the archiving of research data at FSD easier than ever before.
