• New guidelines for data anonymisation available in English

We have updated the English version of our guidelines on data anonymisation to correspond to the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Anonymisation is one way of making research data shareable for reuse by the scientific community.

The new guidelines cover what counts as personal data, what terms like minimisation, pseudonymisation and anonymisation mean, and how you can deal with identifiers in research data. The guidelines provide concrete examples and tips for balancing data anonymity with data utility, and there are questions you can use to assess whether your anonymisation techniques are sufficiently robust.
