New FSD website published

The Finnish Social Science Data Archive's website has been updated, and the new site allows users to find the relevant services with less effort than before. The improved, more colourful site works smoothly also for users on mobile devices.

Different FSD user groups – researchers, students, teachers and research funders – can now find services relevant for their needs through links on the front page. Navigation on the site has been streamlined, and introductions and links on the front pages of different sections assist users in browsing the extensive contents of the website and finding the relevant information. The new site is designed with accessibility in mind, and the interface scales responsively to different types of screens, such as phones or tablets.

All content regarding research data has been moved to the Data Service Portal Aila, but the FSD website will naturally still offer links to the most recent datasets on Aila. The new site will also include introductions of featured datasets and theme pages. You can find the latest FSD announcements, blog entries and events in the familiar "News" section.

For now, many of the services offered by FSD will still use the old interface, but FSD has planned to redesign the user interface of the Data Management Guidelines and other services in the coming years.
