Loda

The Loda longitudinal study metadata portal provided openly available variable-level information on longitudinal data series archived at FSD.

The portal contained metadata for five studies in the Finnish National Election Study series conducted between 2003 and 2019. Users could browse individual series and datasets, search for specific variables on the search page, and explore the items to find and discover new and interesting perspectives on existing data. Loda was developed as part of the Crossing Boundaries with Tools and Services (C-BoTS) project funded by the Research Council of Finland.

The Loda portal replaced the old FNESdata service in 2022 and was developed using the Colectica platform. Loda was shut down on April 16, 2026. FSD is investigating new services for similar use cases. All the datasets previously available through the Loda platform are available to the research community through the Aila Data Service.
